Castleview House is a superb, newly renovated property offering outstanding Visit Scotland 5 star graded accommodation over three floors. It has magnificent views to Maclellan's Castle and, from the bedrooms, over Kirkcudbright to the estuary and uplands beyond. Whilst the house is centrally located init has a quiet location with easy access to all its facilities and backs on to the Hope-Dunbar Park, a recently enhance children's play area and consequently easy access to the woodland walks adjoining Kirkcudbright.
The property has been lovingly restored and converted from its earlier status as the town's Masonic Hall to include underfloor heating throughout the ground floor and in all bathrooms. It provides spacious and comfortable family accommodation for groups of up to ten, with wheelchair access to the ground floor. ( Please note there is no bedroom on the ground floor.) There is excellent outdoor seating both to the front of the house facing West to catch the afternoon and evening sun whilst, to the rear overlooking the adjoining park, the verandah facing East makes the most of the sun up to lunchtime and beyond.
South-West Scotland is ideal for holidays and abounds in touring opportunities, historic and cultural sites or sporting activities. The former might include visiting National Trust properties at Broughton House in Kirkcudbright, and Threave Gardens outside Castle Douglas whilst the latter would obviously involve golfing with courses too numerous too mention, including the town's 18-hole course just a mile away. There are also plentiful opportunities for horse-riding, bird watching, walking on beaches or cliff tops or in woodlands and, for biking enthusiasts, the Forestry Commission's 7Stanes Mountain bike Routes are all close at hand.

Lovely house - all the comforts necessary for a relaxing holiday. Great to have a kitchen full of utensils, pots & pans and we enjoyed having some time to cook. Lots of space for teenagers to spread themselves out and do revision for exams. The weather was very kind to us and we got out every day to explore! Mr & Mrs T. Dalkeith
Thank you for thinking of everything that we could possibly need for a family holiday. The house is beautifully decorated and comfortable.
