About Discover Scotland – Holiday Homes Lettings Agency

Our holiday home letting agency started in the 1980s through letting cottages and houses that were no longer required for farm and forestry workers.   The business was managed by  G M Thomson & Company, Chartered Surveyors as G M Thomson Holiday Homes which then changed with the advent of the internet to Scothols.   In 2002 as part of planned expansion G M Thomson & Company bought the Discover Scotland Agency to amalgamate both businesses and to provide a wider coverage through Scotland as a whole, with holiday homes in Southwest Scotland, holiday homes in Southeast Scotland and the Scottish Borders, holiday homes in the South Highlands and East Scotland; and holiday homes in the Scottish Highlands and North Scotland.

The original holiday home letting agency was founded on the traditional business values of providing a professional personal service to owners and visitors to ensure their interests and requirements were met on an individual basis. We have continued with this approach to personal service and at Discover Scotland, we do ensure that each holiday property is inspected and is known to our staff so that they are able to advice fully on any queries from visitors or owners alike.

We pride ourselves on providing a courteous, friendly and efficient holiday home lettings service to all and take pride in using our best endeavours to ensure that guests have a wonderful stay in our holiday properties. We take pride in the fact that between 60 – 70% of our visitors have either been before or have been recommended by a friend to us Discover Scotland.
