Ailsa Cottage Reviews
4 star reviewLovely little cottage that was great for our first visit to the area. Although the decor is very dated, the cottage was clean and cosy and provided everything we expected. There was a nice touch of fresh flowers on arrival and the kitchen was very well kitted out, including a couple of flasks that we could take on our walks.
The only real negative was the shower which was very low on pressure and cramped. Ok if you're only 5ft 2 but not so clever if you're a tall and broad ex rugby player!! However, we thought it was excellent value and a lovely location and will certainly use it again.
4 star reviewAilsa Cottage is good value and very handy for the town. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and tea/coffee/milk, loads of cleaning products and stuff like that. It has a cottagey feel but we liked the homely atmosphere. The garden is a real sun trap and there is a BBQ, table chairs and umbrella in the shed. The neighbours were great and we had a fantastic time!
2 star reviewThe cottage although very clean was a little "tired" with no blind at the bedroom window and Ibdidn't expect the kitchen roof to leak when it rained! Many thanks for your comments. We were not aware of any issues with the roof above the kitchen at Ailsa but thank you for letting us know. We will inform the owner immediately.
Please do in future contact Discover Scotland with any issues you have whilst still on holiday. We are in regular contact with owners/caretakers and so can usually get these things sorted out so that you can enjoy the rest of your holiday.
