In a peaceful position close to the gardens at the centre of historic Wigtown, Scotland's National Book Town, this traditional flat provides an excellent holiday base in the centre of picturesque Galloway with some of the finest scenery in southern Scotland on the doorstep. 

Wigtown has a long and distinguished history, as the former County Town.  It has retained an old-fashioned charm, enhanced by being Scotland's book town. It provides a pleasant setting in which to meander, appreciating the high quality gift shops, small gallery, excellent plant nursery, numerous book shops and many cafes. The area spoils for choice for things to explore and discover, with local walks, breath-taking scenery and nearby Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, wilderness and romance sites.  Inland, there are the Galloway Hills with hidden lochs and dramatic waterfalls, whilst the beautiful Solway coastline with sandy beaches, rocky coves and picturesque villages is also just a short drive away.    

Wigtown Bay Local Nature Reserve is internationally recognised for the large numbers of pink-footed geese, Greylag geese, and many species of duck and wading birds which can be seen in autumn and winter.  

Throughout the area, there are an exceptional number of activities, including fishing beside one of the area's many excellent rivers, or attempting a challenging 7 Stanes cycle track. Horse riding, golf, sailing, diving and numerous walks are available in the area.  The area's famously mild climate and the balmy influence of the Gulf Stream make Galloway home to many beautiful and exotic gardens, with Logan Botanic Gardens at the south-western tip of Scotland, near Port Logan, being one of the most exotic and not be missed.

Brilliant flat. Well equipped and clean and cosy. Ideal as bang in centre of town over lovely coffee shop.

Lovely flat in ideal location. Well equipped and cosy flat and truly dog friendly. The hosts were superb. Very welcoming and helpful. Lovely cafe directly below the flat for excellent coffee and home baking. We felt completely at home there and plan to return.

Lovely flat. Huge in size. Everything we needed. Great location in middle of the town. Parking easy. Sea views from top floor. Beautiful garden. The owner couldn't do more to help us. Advise on where to go, dog walks, very flexible on our arrival / departure time, let us use garden whenever we needed it. Lots of local information in flat. Very happy. Lovely stylus- would love to come back.
