"I had a lovely time here, I love the landscape. Me and my Mum have long bike rides through the beautiful countryside. I love holidays here. " July 2013 Charlotte aged 10.
"We have enjoyed staying here so much in your cosy cottage! Such a peaceful, relaxing location. The brambling was addictive! - Sorry about your now pink wooden spoon. A good base for 7Stanes & Skyla lapped up her beach freedom! Thank you so much & hope to meet you again soon." September 2013. Alison, Mark & Skyla
"Back again to our favourite cottage. Comfortable & cosy thanks to Pam for the supply of coals and logs for the lovely open fire when it was wild and windy outside. Even after visiting the area for 25 years we still discover new places to visit. Riggs Bay, near Garlieston and the walks to Cruggleton Castle. The sight of the original prototype for the Mulberry Harbour in the bay. Foxes visiting the garden and then walking along the wall when leaving. Looking forward already to returning next year. Returning home after another great holiday." October 2013 Linda & Graham from West Yorks.
"Have had a lovely time. We have decided one week is not enough. Even though storms/winds through the night the stars have been amazing. Thanks to Pam & Gary and the owners for their lovely treats. Highly recommend Pam's mulled wine Yummy!" December 2013 The Kershaws from Lancs.

Chapelton Cottage No 1 Reviews
4 star reviewIt was a very easy place to find, easy layout and I liked the fact it had easy to use central heating plus an open fire. Lovely to see the sea from the window and really quiet and peaceful. Many thanks for your kind review! We were so pleased to hear how easily you found the cottage. We recently reviewed the directions so it's great to hear they're working!
4 star reviewWe have been visiting and staying at Chapelton for many years and as usual we have had a wonderful week. It is a comfortable, cosy home from home. Pam and Gary are on hand if any problems arise and happy to help. Thank you for the logs and starter pack of coal Pam, although it wasn't needed as the weather was kind to us. the cottage is in a lovely peaceful location perfect for escaping from a busy world, which includes no mobile signal and and unpredictable, slow internet but these never interfere with our enjoyment of the place. The cottage is looking a bit tired now, in need of a bit of TLC and some more cooking pots/dishes would be helpful, particularly for the microwave. Having said this we will be back next year to enjoy it all over again. Thank you for another lovely stay.
1 star reviewvery dusty, lots of cobwebs, dishwasher didn't work, we had to make up our own bed and empty the bedroom trash bin, the kitchen bin was filthy at the bottom.Thank you for yoru feedback we will pass this onto the owner
4 star reviewLovely cottage with character, very cosy and in a pretty location. However, you almost loose a day on late arrival time and early departure. Allowed in after 4pm but must leave by 10:00am. This could be improved as other cottages have a shorter turnaround time. Thanks for the 4* review, the arrival time will be reviewed but is a fairly standard sort of time and is needed if there is a back to back booking.
2 star reviewWe have stayed in this location for quite a few years now but have noticed a steady deterioration in the maintenance of the house and feel it is no longer value for money compared with others. It is clean and tidy but doors are difficult to shut and lock. The week we were there the weather was very mixed and we were grateful for the central heating, however the open fire would be a more welcoming and financially feasible option. A couple of small logs and a few pieces of coal do not even give a small starter for a fire and to get more supplies we were directed to the local garage. We have stayed in other cottages where fuel has been freely supplied. Also the internet did not work the whole time we were there nor could we get a mobile signal. It is disappointing as these services were included in the particulars.
