5 star reviewLovely cottage with views to the sea, large warm rooms, easy to use cooker, extra fridge in utility room and large covered area at back of property that can take 4 cars. Kids used it to play in while it was raining. 5 mins walk to lovely sandy beach. Photos of house don’t do it justice, it’s also larger than it looks. Our family ranged from 2 to 69 year olds. Hope to come back, would highly recommend.
4 star reviewBeautiful location, quiet and undisturbed. Mobile phone signal non existent on three providers (not a problem, it's good to get away from phones, but not mentioned in brochure) helpful caretaker said to ring if any problems, but no phone for the landline and internet connection poor. Cottage looking a bit tired, needs some work, however as we were out and about most of the time not the end of the world.
2 star reviewIt is a 3 star cottage. The size of the cottage is right for us, however, I would be happy to pay more for an up-graded interior. It is in a bit of an 80s time warp. The main room carpets need to be professionally cleaned and preferably replaced. The dining chair seat covers need a professional clean. The seat pads on the settee in the entrance are very old and not as clean as i would want. There is a carpet in the main bathroom and this can not be hygienic!!
Generally the cottage interior is dated and could do with a modernisation and up-grade.
Having said all this, we had a good holiday. We knew what we were getting having been there last year. At some point soon it needs a re-vamp.Very good to hear that you enjoyed your holiday. The owners do take an active approach to the house and over the last year or so have provided a range cooker and other items. They do plan to change carpets in the near future and renewal of seat pads. Due to the construction of the house it will always have an older style but hopefully the location with the wonderful views and nearby sand of Brighouse Bay allows the style to be forgiven. Hope to see you next year so that you can see progress in the house.
