Renovated in summer 2016, Rose Cottage is a large characterful detached comfortable cottage with quality furnishings and fittings throughout. The spacious family accommodation is all on one level and very well laid out with 3 of the 4 bedrooms having ensuite facilities. The attractive modern open plan kitchen with dining room overlooks the peaceful suntrap rear garden with pond; patio doors lead from the dining room to a paved patio in the corner of the garden. The sitting room makes a perfect place to relax in cosy comfort with its wood burning stove. The cottage has views at the front over open fields to the nearby hills and mountains; to the rear there is a large enclosed garden with a summer house, BBQ, patio and feature pond with rockery.
The hamlet of Culrain lies in the shadow of Carbisdale Castle, close to stunning forest walks and many fishing opportunities. There is a request rail stop within 5 min walk giving access to Inverness and Wick on the east coast main line.
Rose Cottage has direct access to mountain bike trails and cycling; for the adventurous the Cape of Wrath route can be followed from Culrain Station over Assynt Peninsular to the top right corner of Scotland and back on round (174 miles). The village of Ardgay is 4 miles away with shops, a cafe and cycle hire. The area is famous for its golf courses at nearby Dornoch and Tain, there is also a lovely 9 hole course at Bonar Bridge which is enjoyable to play. Relaxation at the end of the day can be finished off with a pleasant walk to the local Pub at Invershin (Inbhir Sin) just 1/2mile away.
Irresistible incredibly white sandy beaches await your discovery at Embo, Portmahomack and Dornoch with the chance to see dolphins both from the shore or by taking a sea safari excursion. Nearby outdoor activities abound, including Pony trekking, which adds to the many activities you can enjoy while you explore this fabulous and unspoilt area.
