The house is one of Kirkcudbright's oldest buildings and has excellent views over the town, the outstanding Visit Scotland 5 star graded accommodation ensures a luxurious holiday experience. It has magnificent views to Maclellan's Castle and, from the bedrooms, over Kirkcudbright to the estuary and uplands beyond. Whilst the house is centrally located it has a quiet location with easy access to all its facilities and backs on to the Hope-Dunbar Park, a recently enhanced children's play area and consequently easy access to the woodland walks adjoining Kirkcudbright.

The property has been lovingly restored and converted from its earlier status as the town's Masonic Hall to include underfloor heating throughout the ground floor and in all bathrooms. It provides spacious and comfortable family accommodation for groups of up to ten, with wheelchair access to the ground floor, the accommodation is over three floors and please note there is no bedroom on the ground floor. There is excellent outdoor seating both to the front of the house facing West to catch the afternoon and evening sun whilst, to the rear overlooking the adjoining park, the veranda facing East makes the most of the sun up to lunchtime and beyond. A top quality chef service is available on request.

South-West Scotland is ideal for holidays and abounds in touring opportunities, historic and cultural sites or sporting activities. The former might include visiting National Trust properties at Broughton House in Kirkcudbright, and Threave Gardens outside Castle Douglas whilst the latter would obviously involve golfing with courses too numerous to mention, including the town's 18-hole course just a mile away. There are also plentiful opportunities for horse-riding, bird watching, walking on beaches or cliff tops or in woodlands and, for biking enthusiasts, 2 hybrid bikes are provided for use of guests. The Forestry Commission's 7Stanes Mountain bike Routes are all close at hand.

Castleview House is let weekly Friday to Friday or Monday to Monday. Short breaks are accepted throughout the year for 3 nights Friday to Monday or 4 nights Monday to Friday.
A 15% discount will be applied on full weeks for groups of 4 or less, this cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
Please note that a £300 Damage Deposit is required on all bookings.

Damage Deposit for care of property

All holiday-makers booking a holiday are required to pay either a Damage Deposit, £150 or as noted in the property listing details, or Damage Deposit waiver of £18, whichever is selected is required to be paid with the balance payment of the holiday. Where selected the Damage Deposit will be held by Discover Scotland to be applied against the reasonable costs of repairs, replacement or additional cleaning of furnishings, kitchen equipment, crockery, glass, bedding and towels damaged or soiled other than by normal wear and tear during the holiday. The Damage Deposit, less any reasonable charges, will be returned within 14 days of the departure date. Where any costs exceed the Damage Deposit the holiday-maker will pay such excess as notified to them by Discover Scotland within 14 days of notification. Where the holiday-maker has agreed to pay the Damage Deposit Waiver the Damage Deposit is not payable. This amount is non-refundable. If the cost of any damage or breakages exceeds the applicable Damage Deposit value for the property, then the holiday-maker will be liable for any additional costs. Any such excess will be notified to them by Discover Scotland and due for payment within 14 days of notification.

All bookings require either a refundable Damage Deposit £150 or as per the property details or £18 non refundable Damage Deposit Waiver.
