One of a pair of delightful cosy semi-detached traditional Galloway Cottages in Borgue graded 4 star by Visit Scotland. Tucked away in a secluded position surrounded by stunning rural scenery with beautiful open views across open farmland to the sea in the distance. The comfortable accommodation has spacious a sitting room with separate dining area; the wood burner makes it the perfect place to warm and relax after a day out. There are views to the sea and on to the Isle of Man which can be enjoyed from the sitting room or the front garden patio while enjoying a morning coffee.
The surrounding area is teeming with an array of wildlife and is a 'Twitchers' paradise. There is much to see and do in the area and, apart from Brighouse Bay, there are plenty of sandy beaches and coves within a short drive. The cottage is a few minutes' drive from Brighouse Bay Golf Course & Leisure Club which has several leisure activities including a swimming pool and a superb cliff top golf course. It also offers a bar and eating facilities. The area has wonderful sporting facilities including game, sea and coarse fishing. Kirroughtree, part of the Galloway Forest offers a stage of the 7stanes Mountain Bike trail, with others a little further afield at Dalbeattie, Mabie & Ae Forests. There are numerous opportunities for walking be your preference for beach & cliff top walks or more strenuous hill walking. Golfing is available at Brighouse Bay or there are numerous courses within Dumfries and Galloway all within easy reach. The nearest town, Kirkcudbright, 'The Artists Town', has a number of interesting galleries, Broughton House and Garden (National Trust for Scotland) and a busy working harbour and marina.
Chapelton Cottage No 1 is attached to this cottage and, for larger parties; the two cottages can be booked together.

Damage Deposit for care of property

All holiday-makers booking a holiday are required to pay either a Damage Deposit, £150 or as noted in the property listing details, or Damage Deposit waiver, whichever is selected is required to be paid with the balance payment of the holiday. Where selected the Damage Deposit will be held by Discover Scotland to be applied against the reasonable costs of repairs, replacement or additional cleaning of furnishings, kitchen equipment, crockery, glass, bedding and towels damaged or soiled other than by normal wear and tear during the holiday. The Damage Deposit, less any reasonable charges, will be returned within 14 days of the departure date. Where any costs exceed the Damage Deposit the holiday-maker will pay such excess as notified to them by Discover Scotland within 14 days of notification. Where the holiday-maker has agreed to pay the Damage Deposit Waiver the Damage Deposit is not payable. This amount is non-refundable. If the cost of any damage or breakages exceeds the applicable Damage Deposit value for the property, then the holiday-maker will be liable for any additional costs. Any such excess will be notified to them by Discover Scotland and due for payment within 14 days of notification.

All bookings require either a refundable Damage Deposit £150 or as per the property details or £20 non refundable Damage Deposit Waiver.
