The cottage, awarded four stars by Visit Scotland is part of the courtyard conversion of Dron Court farmhouse & outbuildings. The buildings originally go back to the 17th Century and are on the site of a hill top watering and resting place used by Monks going to St Andrews. One of the 5 original wells has been restored and forms part of the landscape which makes the courtyard so attractive. The site with two acres of landscaped gardens overlooks the Eden River and valley with its wealth of bird life and fishing. There is a children's play area with swing and grassed area for ball games and plenty of room for children to run about.
St. Andrews is only 4 miles away, with its world famous golf courses, university (the oldest in Scotland), cathedral, fascinating castle, with its secret passage, leisure pool, botanic gardens, the British golf museum, not forgetting the long sandy beaches and dunes. In addition to the many sandy beaches in Fife, there are delightful fishing villages such as Crail, Anstruther and Pittenweem, with their traditional fishermen's' cottages and attractive harbours. There are many restaurants and coastal inns throughout the area, many of which specialise in locally caught fish.
