Castle Douglas
Southern Scotland
3 Bedrooms
2 Bathrooms
5 Guests
2 Dogs
A delightful single storey house with a private garden and seating area and off street parking with electric car charge point. The bustling centre of the charming market town with all its facilities is on the doorstep; including a large public park next to Carlingwark Loch which provides varied water sports including fishing.
The accommodation has been modernised and furnished to a high standard making the house ideal for family holidays or getaways for couples. Although situated in the town when sitting out in the garden you are totally private and secluded.
Castle Douglas provides an excellent range of shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and hotels and is an ideal centre for exploring the wider area. The Solway Coast with its sandy beaches and rocky coves is within a half hour's drive and Loch Ken, with water sports and excellent coarse fishing, and the hills, are very close.
Castle Douglas golf course is a short walk away and there are a number of other golf courses throughout the area, including the testing links course at Southerness. Game, coarse and sea fishing are all available locally. For the naturalist the Red Kite Trail is close to the town and slightly further afield are the nationally important wildfowl reserves of Mersehead and Caerlaverock.
