COVID-19 Update

We are a small, dedicated team who pride ourselves on our commitment to our customers and owners. We have worked hard to achieve Feefo Platinum standard for delivering exceptional customer and we will continue to try and adhere to this even during the current crisis. We are trying to be socially responsible & morally fair in discussions with our holiday-makers and cottage owners alike.

We will be contacting all our holiday-makers who are not able to take up their holiday due to the COVID19 restrictions to issue a voucher which will allow them to re-book an alternative date. This is being undertaken on a week by week basis rolling forward.  If you have a booking and have not been contacted yet then please be patient, please don’t contact us unless it is more than 7 days after your booked arrival date.

With thousands of bookings across 270 properties and their respective owners to liaise with, it’s a huge jigsaw for us to complete, particularly when we can’t be in the office due to the current restrictions. This does mean that we are not able to respond in our usual quick & efficient way.

A charming luxury cottage on a working farm in a super location for family holidays and short breaks, the cottage has been converted from the former dairy and offers spacious accommodation for 5, completely refurbished and finished to an excellent standard throughout.The cottage is on the edge of the Galloway Dark Sky park so is assured of plenty of star gazing opportunities from the door step. Not only that but you will find wild life on the door step including soaring Red Kite, Deer, Red Squirrels and the farm chickens! The Forest Park offers superb wildlife and out door activities with many walking and mountain bike routes. The fabulous Solway coast is nearby with stunning beaches contrasting with rugged cliffs and smugglers coves, all making for wonderful days out exploring.
Water sports are well catered for throughout the area and Loch Ken is close by with The Galloway Activity Centre, Crossmichael Marina and Waterski School.
Scottish culture and history can also be enjoyed at many sites including Threave Castle which is set on an Island in the River Dee and more contemporary Arts at Broughton house, Kirkcudbright which celebrates the Glasgow Boys” school of artists.

Clear Dates

Damage Deposit for care of property

All holiday-makers booking a holiday are required to pay either a Damage Deposit, £150 or as noted in the property listing details, or Damage Deposit waiver of £18, whichever is selected is required to be paid with the balance payment of the holiday. Where selected the Damage Deposit will be held by Discover Scotland to be applied against the reasonable costs of repairs, replacement or additional cleaning of furnishings, kitchen equipment, crockery, glass, bedding and towels damaged or soiled other than by normal wear and tear during the holiday. The Damage Deposit, less any reasonable charges, will be returned within 14 days of the departure date. Where any costs exceed the Damage Deposit the holiday-maker will pay such excess as notified to them by Discover Scotland within 14 days of notification. Where the holiday-maker has agreed to pay the Damage Deposit Waiver the Damage Deposit is not payable. This amount is non-refundable. If the cost of any damage or breakages exceeds the applicable Damage Deposit value for the property, then the holiday-maker will be liable for any additional costs. Any such excess will be notified to them by Discover Scotland and due for payment within 14 days of notification.

All bookings require either a refundable Damage Deposit £150 or as per the property details or £18 non refundable Damage Deposit Waiver.
