Southern Scotland

The property, with its lovely private garden, enjoys a stunning, south facing location right on the beach front in the picturesque village of Rockcliffe. The sun lounge has fabulous, uninterrupted views across the bay to Rough Island and Hestan Island. The large twin and family bedrooms enjoy the same view, as do the dining room and spacious, comfortable lounge.
An extensive network of footpaths give access to many walks through woods and countryside, with opportunities to pause at one of the many secluded seats. You might, at low tide, walk over to explore Rough Island or choose the coastal footpath to secret smugglers' coves with wonderful views over the Solway to the Lake District, whilst a perfect evening stroll is over to the popular sailing village of Kippford to eat at one of the two excellent pubs.
Shop at local farmers' markets for produce and visit our characterful local towns: Castle Douglas, the food town, Wigtown, the book town and the colourful artists' town of Kirkcudbright. There are also extensive mountain bike trails, excellent sailing, golf and the longest zip wire in Europe for the adventurous!
Galloway is known for its wildlife reserves, including the famous Red Kite Trail and the Dark Sky Park for would-be astronomers. Gardens, castles, museums and craft galleries abound. Excellent accommodation, stunning scenery and a wealth of activities make this a truly perfect holiday location.
