The cottage has been carefully modernised to retain all the original character while providing spacioous and comfortable holiday accommodation suitable for larger groups and family parties, the wood burner in the sitting room ensures a warm welcome after a long day out exploring the local area.. There is an excellent open plan kitchen with dining room overlooking the peaceful suntrap rear garden with pond. The patio doors leading from the dining room to a paved patio in the corner of the garden allow peaceful evening drinks and dining to be enjoyed. The cottage has views at the front over open fields to the nearby hills and mountains; to the rear there is a large enclosed garden with a summer house, BBQ, patio and feature pond with rockery.
The hamlet of Culrain lies in the shadow of Carbisdale Castle, close to stunning forest walks and many fishing opportunities. There is a request rail stop within 5 min walk giving access to Inverness and Wick on the east coast main line.
There is direct access to mountain bike trails and cycling from the cottage; for the adventurous the Cape of Wrath route can be followed from Culrain Station over Assynt Peninsular to the top right corner of Scotland and back all round 174 miles. The village of Ardgay is 4 miles away with shops, a cafe and cycle hire. The area is famous for its golf courses at nearby Dornoch and Tain, there is also a lovely 9 hole course at Bonar Bridge which is enjoyable to play. Relaxation at the end of the day can be finished off with a pleasant walk to the local Pub at Invershin (Inbhir Sin) just 1/2 mile away.
Nearby outdoor activities abound, including Pony trekking, which adds to the many activities you can enjoy while you explore this fabulous and unspoilt area.
