A WELCOME ADDITION TO OUR PORTFOLIO with availability throughout 2025

This detached cottage is ideally located for exploring the nearby Artists Town of Kirkcudbright, and the wider area of Dumfries & Galloway.

The Solway Coast is close by, with numerous beaches and rugged cliff tops along the coastline to explore. The extensive sandy beaches at Brighouse Bay, Kirkandrews and Carrick Bay are all within a short distance from the cottage, great for walks, wild swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking etc. Inland is the vast expanse of the Galloway Forest Park, nominated Britain's first Dark Sky Park, offering unrivalled opportunities for star gazing due to the low light pollution. Nearby there are sporting facilities including game, sea and coarse fishing, mountain biking opportunities at Kirroughtree, a stage of the 7stanes Mountain Bike trails, with others a little further afield at Dalbeattie, Mabie & Ae Forests. There are numerous opportunities for walking be your preference for beach & cliff top walks or more strenuous hill walking. Golfing is available nearby at Brighouse Bay, Kirkcudbright and Gatehouse of Fleet with a wider choice of courses across Dumfries and Galloway all within easy reach.

The nearby town of Kirkcudbright is well worth an explore and offers a full programme of events throughout the year including a Jazz Festival, Tattoo, Scottish Nights, Festival of Light and Arts & Craft Trail weekend to name a few. The National Trust for Scotland property Broughton House and Garden, home of the renowned artist E.A. Hornel is well worth a visit, with other National Trust and Historic Scotland sites within an easy drive. The multi-million-pound Kirkcudbright Art Gallery enhances the town’s links to The Glasgow Boys and Girls. There are many areas of conserved architecture to wander around and several welcoming cafes. Kirkcudbright has a busy working harbour and marina, and the boats are a very impressive sight when alongside. The town also boasts a Dark Sky Planetarium, a Gin Distillery, a community run swimming pool and a cookery school. For the younger generation there is the Wee Pottery in the town, or slightly further afield is The Cocoa Bean Factory which offers chocolate workshops and both indoor and outdoor play areas.
For eating out, The Borgue Hotel within the village offers homemade food, but as it does get busy it is advisable to book in advance. There are also extensive eateries in Kirkcudbright, including The Selkirk Arms, Feast café and the recently opened ‘Swally n Scran’ restaurant, which offers a unique dining experience for seafood lovers. Gatehouse of Fleet and Castle Douglas also offer wide dining choices.

All in all there really is something for everyone.
