A Guide To Castle Douglas
25 Oct 2018A few miles to the north-east of Kirkcudbright, Castle Douglas sits on the shore of Carlingwark Loch. Nearby Threave Castle, built in the 13th century and Threave gardens are open to the public, managed by National Trust for Scotland. Just a little further afield is the ‘red kite feeding station’ at Laurieston and the Galloway activity centre on Loch Ken, offering a wide range of adventurous activities and sports. So far, we haven’t mentioned much about eating out, partly because every town offers a good range of establishments to suit different tastes and budgets, however, Castle Douglas is the ‘food town’ for South Scotland with a great variety of Delis and restaurants making it a haven for gastronomes.
