Black Mount House is a modern spacious, yet cosy property situated in a peaceful and quiet location about a a 5 minute drive from Oban town centre. It’s the perfect place to stay, whether it be relaxing in the hot tub taking in the countryside views across to Beinn Glass and listening to the wildlife, making the most of the enclosed garden which features an outdoor hot/cold bath and a sauna room.and is great for BBQs, reading, drinks and catching up on the day’s events Although in a rural setting it is still close enough to town to be able to enjoy evenings out and a taxi ride home. There are walks and cycle rides from the doorstep, including Glencruitten Woods, a spruce plantation with a good network of forest roads, old tracks and trails.

Nearby Oban is a pleasant 30 minute walk or a 10 minute cycle to the "Seafood Capital" of Scotland with a fishing fleet in the bay, a varied range of seafood restaurants and an excellent fish shop. The town is otherwise known as the Gateway to the Isles with the Calmac ferry terminal giving access to trips to Mull, Colonsay, Tiree, Lismore and Barra, making Blackmount House an ideal base for exploring this area of the West coast. There are many renowned restaurants in the town and the surrounding streets house several curio shops, for entertainment there is a cinema and leisure centre.

Black Mount House is let weekly Saturday to Saturday with short breaks accepted between end of October and end of March excluding the festive period

First Floor; Master bedroom with King size bed and ensuite shower room; Double bedroom; Super King size bedroom that can be made into twin room; Family bathroom with walk in shower. The garden area is enclosed making it perfect for guests with young children or fury animals joining in the fun.

Note:
a) Black Mount House is served from a natural water supply in the surrounding hills which is UV filtered and tested by the local authority and passed as safe to drink.
b) The wood fired hot tub will take about 2.5 hours to heat to a hot temperature before use. A reasonable supply of firewood will be available for your stay. Should additional supplies be required they can be purchased at local garages & merchants in town
c) The Sauna is electric and will take roughly 15 minutes to heat.

Damage Deposit for care of property

All holiday-makers booking a holiday are required to pay either a Damage Deposit, £150 or as noted in the property listing details, or Damage Deposit waiver, whichever is selected is required to be paid with the balance payment of the holiday. Where selected the Damage Deposit will be held by Discover Scotland to be applied against the reasonable costs of repairs, replacement or additional cleaning of furnishings, kitchen equipment, crockery, glass, bedding and towels damaged or soiled other than by normal wear and tear during the holiday. The Damage Deposit, less any reasonable charges, will be returned within 14 days of the departure date. Where any costs exceed the Damage Deposit the holiday-maker will pay such excess as notified to them by Discover Scotland within 14 days of notification. Where the holiday-maker has agreed to pay the Damage Deposit Waiver the Damage Deposit is not payable. This amount is non-refundable. If the cost of any damage or breakages exceeds the applicable Damage Deposit value for the property, then the holiday-maker will be liable for any additional costs. Any such excess will be notified to them by Discover Scotland and due for payment within 14 days of notification.

All bookings require either a refundable Damage Deposit £150 or as per the property details or £20 non refundable Damage Deposit Waiver.
