The Coo Shed is a charming 200-year-old former cow shed, now offering a stylish and comfortable self-catering holiday experience with a traditional twist. Retaining many characterful features, including exposed stone walls, coombed ceilings, and slate flagstones, the property is warmed by underfloor heating throughout. Located in Glenshee, Perthshire, The Coo Shed boasts stunning views of Mount Blair, adding to the beauty and tranquillity of this unique retreat. With its blend of rustic charm and modern comforts, it's the perfect place to relax and enjoy the surrounding landscape.

Perched on a hillside in Perthshire, this holiday cottage offers spectacular views from every room and the garden, stretching across Glenshee to Mount Blair. Large patio doors open from the spacious living room onto a raised deck, leading down to a lawned garden with a hot tub. On colder days, relax by the log-burning stove with complimentary logs, while watching red squirrels, pine martens, stoats, roe deer, and a variety of birds in the garden.

The cottage sleeps four and features a spacious king-size master bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a twin bedroom, and a main bathroom with both a bath and shower. Towels and bedding are provided, including extra towels for the hot tub and bathrobes for adults. The well-equipped open-plan kitchen and dining area includes a dishwasher, washing machine, double oven, hob, microwave, and other essential items to make self-catering a breeze.

The property is laid out on one level with no internal steps, making it suitable for guests with limited mobility. For those looking to holiday together, the attached cottage next door is perfect for two families, offering an ideal balance of togetherness and privacy.
The area is a fantastic destination for families, offering a wide range of outdoor activities that will keep everyone entertained. Enjoy family-friendly hikes, mountain biking trails, and wildlife watching in the surrounding hills and forests, or take a leisurely stroll through nearby woods to spot red squirrels, deer, and other local wildlife. For water-loving families, the River Tay offers kayaking and fishing opportunities, while the nearby lochs provide a peaceful setting for picnics and tranquil afternoons.

Explore Scotland’s rich history with visits to family-friendly castles such as Balmoral, Braemar, Glamis, Scone Palace, and Blair Castle, where children can enjoy the grounds, adventure playgrounds, and learn about Scotland’s royal past. Take a scenic drive along the A93, also known as "Scotland’s Snow Road," famous for its stunning views and unique art installations that are perfect for family photos.

In winter, the region becomes a winter wonderland, with nearby resorts like Glenshee Ski Centre offering skiing and snowboarding for all levels, including beginner slopes for kids and families. For more child-friendly activities, head to Blair Drummond Safari Park to see a variety of animals or visit the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre to meet the UK’s only free-ranging herd of reindeer. The Scottish Crannog Centre in Kenmore offers hands-on activities for children to explore life in prehistoric times, while the Highland Wildlife Park in Kincraig provides a chance to see native Scottish wildlife. Perth also offers family fun at Perth Leisure Pool, which features slides and wave machines perfect for younger children.

Whether exploring historical landmarks, embarking on outdoor adventures, or simply relaxing and enjoying the breathtaking landscapes, the area offers endless opportunities for family fun and discovery.
