Croftdean is close to the Solway Firth and all it's smugglers coves, the delightful holiday cottage has superb open views to the rolling Galloway countryside and the private south facing garden is a perfect suntrap. The garden seating areas are the ideal spot from which to enjoy the local scenery while the modern layout of the bungalow provides spacious and well equipped holiday accommodation for six. Colvend Village is a small hamlet on the stunning Solway coast with a well stocked shop and popular tea room (seasonal opening hours apply). There is nearby access into the Dalbeattie woods which have walking and mountain bike routes to suit all abilities together with tracks that lead to Dalbeattie with all the facilities of a town.

There is easy access to the coast with the popular villages of Rockcliffe with it's beach and the sailing village of Kippford with two excellent pubs, both serving food just a 5 minute drive from the cottage. Kippford is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Dumfries and Galloway and there are always things to see and do around the village. Within a short drive are a number of sandy beaches and an excellent selection of golf courses including the championship links course at Southerness (fees payable). For the outdoor enthusiast this is excellent walking country and within a short distance (one within a 5 minute drive) are two of the main sections of the 7Stanes Mountain Bike Network. There are fantastic Nature and Bird Reserves at WWT Caerlaverock and RSPB Mersehead, again within a short drive. This is an excellent base from which to enjoy an active holiday or in which to totally relax and unwind.
