Disdow House (pronounced Diz-doo) is a beautifully renovated farmhouse offering five luxurious bedrooms and spacious accommodation for up to 11 guests (A maximum of 10 adults, 1 child under 16 years plus infants in travel cots). Designed with multi-generational families and groups of friends in mind, it features a stunning open-plan living area ideal for relaxing, entertaining, and spending quality time together.

Nestled in its own private grounds just one half mile from the small rural town of Gatehouse of Fleet, the house boasts uninterrupted views across the valley, offering guests both privacy and peace.

As you pass through the elegant entrance gates, Disdow House and its breathtaking surroundings come into view. There is generous private parking and a large lawned garden—perfect for children and dogs to play.

Inside, the house has been thoughtfully restored and tastefully decorated to feel both luxurious and welcoming. The heart of the home is the expansive open-plan ground floor, where a state-of-the-art kitchen, a large dining table, and a cosy lounge with a wood-burning stove come together in a space designed for togetherness. Floor-to-ceiling patio doors span one wall, framing panoramic views of the Galloway hills, Fleet Bay, and the surrounding countryside, and lead directly to the outdoor patio, an ideal spot for morning coffee or an evening glass of bubbly.

A utility room off the kitchen provides the perfect place to store outdoor gear or clean up after beach days and country walks. For guests with limited mobility, there’s a stylish ground-floor King size bedroom and a spacious, accessible wet room with a walk-in shower.

Upstairs, you’ll find four further Super King bedrooms, two with en-suite bathrooms. Two of the rooms can be arranged as either Super King or Twin beds, offering flexibility for families or groups. (Please let us know your preferred bed set up at the time of booking). A large family bathroom features a sensational sea view. With a striking copper bath and a separate shower, adding an extra touch of indulgence.

Disdow House is designed with accessibility in mind. Level access, and from there, wide doorways provide step-free access into the main living space. The accessible bedroom and wet room on the ground floor ensure comfort for all guests, regardless of mobility.

As part of your stay, enjoy complimentary access to the communal wood-fired sauna and invigorating cold plunge pool, located just a short drive away at Drumwall Farm. Whether you’re relaxing after a day of adventure or winding down beneath the stars, this unique spa experience offers the perfect way to connect with the stunning natural surroundings - including spectacular sunsets and some of the clearest night skies in Europe.

Tucked between rolling hills and the Solway Coast, Gatehouse of Fleet is a charming town brimming with history, natural beauty, and warm hospitality. Once a bustling mill town, today it offers a peaceful retreat with inviting cafés, local shops, and a welcoming community.

Travelling with children? Local attractions abound. Create sweet memories at the Cocoa Bean Chocolate Factory in Twynholm, with chocolate-making workshops and energetic indoor and outdoor play zones. At Ernespie Farm Park in Castle Douglas, little ones can hop on a real combine harvester or whoosh down the giant ‘Cresta slide’. And of course, the nearby sandy beaches offer classic seaside fun - perfect for rock pooling, paddling, and sandcastle building.

Food lovers will feel right at home here too. Sample local delights at Galloway Lodge or The Iron Brew Café in Gatehouse of Fleet or enjoy fine dining focused on local produce at one of the local hostelries in the town. Discover the region’s artisanal side with a visit to Sulwath Brewery, or book a tasting at the Crafty Gin Distillery and Bladnoch Whisky Distillery for a true flavour of Galloway’s craftsmanship.

Surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of Galloway Forest Park - Scotland’s first Dark Sky Park - it's a haven for walkers, cyclists, and nature lovers. Explore scenic woodland trails, spot local wildlife, or visit historic sites like Cardoness Castle. The nearby coastline boasts beautiful beaches and hidden coves, perfect for seaside strolls or simply soaking in the tranquillity.
