Within a stone’s throw of the lodge, you will discover Bainloch Deer Park, where you can take a Safari to see the in their natural habitat or simply watch them from the Café whilst enjoying a coffee or lunch. Nature lovers will delight in the RSPB Mersehead Reserve, just a few miles along the coast, where birdwatching is exceptional year-round. In winter, vast flocks of geese and wildfowl gather, while in summer, woodland trails lead down to the beach, perfect for a peaceful walk. The reserve also hosts various Wildlife Watching and seasonal events.
A short drive away, visit the historic Southerness Lighthouse, where you can occasionally climb to the top for panoramic views of the Solway Coast and the distant Lake District hills.
