Nestled at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac on the edge of the popular Barend Park, Lyall Lodge offers spacious, comfortable holiday accommodation. Its tranquil setting, bordered by open fields and woodland, provides a perfect blend of peace and privacy, a true escape from the everyday. Enjoy the sights and sounds of nature all around you, with nearby ponds, rolling hills, and forests alive with local wildlife, all just a short stroll from the stunning expanse of Sandyhills Beach.

While the golden sands are sure to tempt you, the surrounding area offers endless opportunities for exploration and adventure. Within a stone’s throw of the lodge, you will discover Bainloch Deer Park, where you can take a Safari to see the in their natural habitat or simply watch them from the Café whilst enjoying a coffee or lunch. Nature lovers will delight in the RSPB Mersehead Reserve, just a few miles along the coast, where birdwatching is exceptional year-round. In winter, vast flocks of geese and wildfowl gather, while in summer, woodland trails lead down to the beach, perfect for a peaceful walk. The reserve also hosts various Wildlife Watching and seasonal events.

A short drive away, visit the historic Southerness Lighthouse, where you can occasionally climb to the top for panoramic views of the Solway Coast and the distant Lake District hills.

History enthusiasts will find plenty to discover across South West Scotland. Explore Sweetheart Abbey in New Abbey, visit one of the country’s oldest working corn mills, or follow in the footsteps of Robert Burns at Ellisland Farm and Dumfries.

All on one floor, but note two flights of steps to entrance, (12 steps in total): Open plan Living/Dining room/Kitchen; Inner hall; King size bedroom with ensuite Toilet & wash basin; Twin bedroom; Bunk bedroom with full size Bunk Beds; Family Shower room with large walk in cubicle with rainfall shower and handheld attachment, toilet & wash basin; Small playroom with a TV and a selection of jigsaws & board games.

Outside: Decking and patio areas with garden furniture and gas BBQ; parking for 3 cars. The outside area is not enclosed, with some areas being communal and therefore children and dogs should be supervised at all times.

Damage Deposit for care of property

All holiday-makers booking a holiday are required to pay either a Damage Deposit, £150 or as noted in the property listing details, or Damage Deposit waiver, whichever is selected is required to be paid with the balance payment of the holiday. Where selected the Damage Deposit will be held by Discover Scotland to be applied against the reasonable costs of repairs, replacement or additional cleaning of furnishings, kitchen equipment, crockery, glass, bedding and towels damaged or soiled other than by normal wear and tear during the holiday. The Damage Deposit, less any reasonable charges, will be returned within 14 days of the departure date. Where any costs exceed the Damage Deposit the holiday-maker will pay such excess as notified to them by Discover Scotland within 14 days of notification. Where the holiday-maker has agreed to pay the Damage Deposit Waiver the Damage Deposit is not payable. This amount is non-refundable. If the cost of any damage or breakages exceeds the applicable Damage Deposit value for the property, then the holiday-maker will be liable for any additional costs. Any such excess will be notified to them by Discover Scotland and due for payment within 14 days of notification.

All bookings require either a refundable Damage Deposit £150 or as per the property details or £20 non refundable Damage Deposit Waiver.
