Ram Lodge offers superb luxury holiday accommodation with the interior design completed by a leading Scottish designer, Chantillie House who own the property. The sumptuous accommodation is laid out over three floors of a traditional Scottish town house and sleeps families and groups of up to 10. The fabulous character and style of the house makes it superbly suited for family holidays or occasions be it wedding parties or to celebrate a special birthday.
Moffat is a vibrant popular town with excellent local shops, hotels and restaurants in the Scottish Borders with easy access to all of southern Scotland and also Edinburgh and Glasgow for days out. It is an attractive spa town and has been popular as a holiday resort since the 17th Century, the town nestles within the southern upland hills and the local area is recognised as being of outstanding natural beauty.
The town has a network of low level walks along the Annan Water and the adjoining hills, theses paths also link to more testing hill walks into the Moffat and Lowther Hills which form the Scottish Southern Uplands. The Southern Upland Way and Annandale Way long distance paths link to the town and there is also easy access to excellent mountain bike routes in the Borders and South West Scotland.
There are two nature reserves close by on the edge of Moffat. Whilst horse riding, quad biking and golf are all available locally, as is the popular 7 Stanes bike trails offering world class mountain biking. Rod hire is available in the town, and there are three fishing ponds at the local Hammerlands Centre, which also has an adventure play park, animal farm and garden centre. There are too many sites of interest to mention all but one not to miss is the Grey Mare’s Tail, Scotland’s highest waterfall now cared for by the National Trust for Scotland and also a trip into the Leadhills to visit Scotland’s highest village and Lead Mining Museum with it’s train.
