Accommodating up to eight guests, this detached cottage boasts uninterrupted views from every corner of its private grounds. The cosy living room features a welcoming wood burner, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The spacious kitchen/diner is fully equipped and features a striking kitchen island with a fascinating history. The wood used to build it was rescued from the Caledonian Canal, where it had been submerged for 100 years.

The cottage is located within a working estate that forms part of a larger area spanning an impressive 114,000 acres. It offers a wealth of sporting opportunities, including fishing, stalking, and shooting, providing guests with the chance to fully immerse themselves in traditional Highland pursuits.

Sherrabeg Cottage is the perfect base for exploring some of Scotland’s most breathtaking landscapes and attractions, offering a mix of adventure, relaxation, and natural beauty. Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast or simply looking for a peaceful retreat, this area has something for everyone.

As cold water swimming continues to gain popularity and health and wellness remain top reasons for travel, Sherrabeg is excited to introduce a wood-fired sauna. Enjoy a refreshing cold dip nearby, then unwind in your very own private sauna, perfectly positioned to offer stunning views across the Spey and the majestic mountains beyond (please let us know you would like this, at time of booking).

Start your journey with the nearby Wolftrax Mountain Bike Trails, a renowned destination for cyclists of all abilities, set against Laggan’s rugged backdrop. For a more leisurely pace, enjoy tranquil walks around the Spey Reservoir. Hiking enthusiasts will relish the unspoiled wilderness of the Monadhliath Mountains, home to red deer and golden eagles, while the cascading beauty of Pattack Falls offers a peaceful woodland escape.

Just a short drive away, Aviemore and the Cairngorms National Park open the door to countless adventures. Hike to the summit of Cairngorm Mountain for sweeping views, or enjoy winter sports when the snow falls. Nearby, the Highland Wildlife Park offers an up-close look at animals like Scottish wildcats and polar bears. Relax at the sandy shores of Loch Morlich, where you can try water sports or explore forest trails, and discover the Rothiemurchus Estate, an outdoor playground with activities like pony trekking, quad biking, and clay pigeon shooting.

For a guided experience, Loch Laggan is renowned for its brown trout and pike, with local experts offering fishing trips.

Just 20 minutes away, Newtonmore Golf Club offers a scenic 18-hole course alongside the River Spey, while nearby Kingussie Golf Club provides a picturesque and rewarding round. If you'd like to enjoy some venison during your stay, this can be pre-ordered before your arrival and delivered to the property. The venison is sourced from across the wider estate and is butchered in house by the estates stalking team. The estate runs a small shop in Fort William, should you wish to pick up some venison or estate lamb throughout your stay.

Damage Deposit for care of property

All holiday-makers booking a holiday are required to pay either a Damage Deposit, £150 or as noted in the property listing details, or Damage Deposit waiver, whichever is selected is required to be paid with the balance payment of the holiday. Where selected the Damage Deposit will be held by Discover Scotland to be applied against the reasonable costs of repairs, replacement or additional cleaning of furnishings, kitchen equipment, crockery, glass, bedding and towels damaged or soiled other than by normal wear and tear during the holiday. The Damage Deposit, less any reasonable charges, will be returned within 14 days of the departure date. Where any costs exceed the Damage Deposit the holiday-maker will pay such excess as notified to them by Discover Scotland within 14 days of notification. Where the holiday-maker has agreed to pay the Damage Deposit Waiver the Damage Deposit is not payable. This amount is non-refundable. If the cost of any damage or breakages exceeds the applicable Damage Deposit value for the property, then the holiday-maker will be liable for any additional costs. Any such excess will be notified to them by Discover Scotland and due for payment within 14 days of notification.

All bookings require either a refundable Damage Deposit £150 or as per the property details or £20 non refundable Damage Deposit Waiver.
