WE ARE DELIGHTED TO WELCOME STABLES COTTAGE TO OUR PORTFOLIO with availability from January 2026

Nestled within the beautiful Perthshire countryside, just over three miles from the charming, historic village of Comrie, Stable Cottage offers the ultimate countryside escape for couples. Set within the heart of the historic Dunira Estate, a wonderful and truly unique destination to experience the spirit of Scotland, the cottage is framed by a breathtaking backdrop of mountains, wooded hills, and rich, lush lowlands.

This beautifully renovated retreat occupies the ground floor of the former working hub of the estate, historically it was once a dynamic centre of daily life at Dunira. The name “Stable Cottage” pays homage to that heritage, while its interiors have been thoughtfully designed to provide contemporary comfort without losing their rural charm.

Step inside and you’ll discover a spacious, stylish hideaway where every detail has been chosen with relaxation in mind. From the Nespresso coffee machine and indulgent rainfall showers to bath robes for lazy mornings. with a cosy wood-burning stove for chilly evenings, the cottage is perfectly equipped for a restorative and romantic stay.

Outside, a private enclosed garden offers your very own oasis of calm. Enjoy morning coffee or simply share a glass together in the “sit-ootery,” a tranquil spot with spectacular views across the Perthshire hills. Here, nature surrounds you: red squirrels race from tree to tree along the old stone walls; red kites and other raptors cry overhead; deer roam the estate year round, through the autumn months listen to their calls echo through the glen; and if you’re quiet, you may glimpse pine martens or hear owls calling across the woods at night. The nearby Boltachan Burn adds its own music, the rush of water after rain completing the scene.

Beyond the garden, Dunira itself is a haven for walkers, runners, and lovers of the outdoors. Meandering trails weave through ancient woodland and alongside rivers and streams, while the surrounding hills invite exploration, east or west toward Comrie, Glen Lednock, Balnacoul Castle Hill, St Fillans, and the wild beauty of the Glen Tarken hills.

The village of Comrie, just a few miles away, is an environmentally conscious community offering outdoor adventure at Comrie Croft from cycling and walking to saunas and homegrown food and drink. To the west, St Fillans and Loch Earn offer more opportunities for water sports, hiking, or simply soaking in the inspiring views.

History and culture are woven deeply into Dunira’s landscape. The name Dun-iar-a, meaning “The Fort of the West Water,” reflects its ancient roots alongside the Boltachan Burn. The estate was purchased by Henry Dundas, 1st Viscount Melville, in 1784 and transformed into a celebrated country retreat with elaborate gardens by the renowned landscape architect Thomas Mawson. More recently, Dunira’s timeless beauty was featured in Outlander, showcasing its lasting place in Scotland’s story.

Whether you’re seeking peaceful seclusion, outdoor adventure, or a deeper connection with Scotland’s nature and history, Stable Cottage is the perfect base to experience it all. With its blend of modern luxury, authentic character, and inspiring surroundings, Dunira invites you to unwind, explore, and rediscover the rhythm of the land.

Stable Cottage is more than a getaway, it’s an experience of Perthshire’s wild beauty, living history, and enduring charm.
