At the heart of the property lies the showstopping barn conversion, an impressive entertainment space featuring seating to relax in front of the fire, a full-size pool table, dart board, and private bar (works on an honesty basis). From here, step directly into your own spa sanctuary, complete with an infra-red sauna, shower room, and a wood-fired hot tub overlooking sweeping views of the Glasgow skyline and miles of rolling countryside. Whether it’s lively evenings of laughter with friends or peaceful moments of relaxation with family, this unique setting delivers both in abundance.

The open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area is thoughtfully designed to combine comfort and functionality. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need including a Nespresso coffee machine for your morning brew. A dining table with seating for six makes it easy to enjoy meals together with an additional dining room for 10 if needed, while the adjoining living space offers a woodburning stove and comfortable seating, perfect for relaxing after a day out. A single glass panelled door opens onto the rear patio and lawned garden, where you can take in far-reaching views across the fields to the distant city skyline.

Perfectly tailored for groups, The Cottage at Barraston Farm comfortably hosts up to 10 guests. The main cottage boasts three beautifully styled bedrooms, while the separate bothy, with its own en-suite and cosy bunk beds, offers flexibility and privacy. The thoughtful layout ensures guests can come together in shared spaces while still enjoying private corners to unwind, making it ideal for families, friends, or mixed gatherings.

Beyond the cottage, guests have exclusive use of a spacious outdoor kitchen, generous dining area, and a large covered communal space, perfect for cooking together, sharing meals, or celebrating special occasions under the open sky. With every corner designed for connection and comfort, Barraston Farm invites you to create memories that will last a lifetime.

The farm itself is a delight to explore. Fully fenced and child-friendly, the grounds are home to an array of friendly farm animals including peacocks, ducks, sheep, and horses (we do ask that children are supervised). Beyond the gates, the local area offers an abundance of things to see and do.

Just minutes away lies the enchanting Lennox Forest, with its network of trails perfect for walking, cycling, or peaceful woodland picnics. Outdoor enthusiasts will also find easy access to the Campsie Fells, where rolling hills and dramatic scenery provide the ideal backdrop for hiking, wildlife spotting, and photography.

Golf lovers are spoilt for choice, with a number of highly regarded courses close by, including Hayston Golf Club, Lenzie Golf Club, and Bishopbriggs Golf Club, each offering beautifully maintained greens and welcoming clubhouses, a little further afield is the prestigious and world-renowned Loch Lomond Golf Course and The Carrick at Cameron House, where you can enjoy a round of 18 holes overlooking the beautiful Loch Lomond.

Families will enjoy nearby attractions such as Mugdock Country Park, a wonderful day out with adventure play areas, scenic lochs, castle ruins, and a visitor centre with regular events and activities for children. A traditional former farm workers cottage, which was purchased by the current owners in 2022 and has been fully renovated to provide the ultimate self-catering experience, centrally located in Scotland, providing spacious accommodation for up to 10:

Accommodation for 10 over two floors:
Ground Floor: 1 step down to entrance door into small hallway with storage cupboard with Washing Machine. Open plan Kitchen/Dining/Living area, Dining table with seating for 6, Living area with Woodburning stove and easy seating, doorway to rear patio and grass area with views across the surrounding fields to the city skyline in the distance. The adjoining Barn offers a relaxed space and leads to the Spa facilities with infra-red sauna, shower room and access to the wood fired Hot Tub.
First Floor: Stairs lead from the living area to the first floor with 2 Super King bedrooms, one with a Twin room leading off and a family shower room.
A further ensuite bedroom with 2 sets of full-sized bunk beds can be found in The Bothy, which is attached to the cottage but accessed externally.
Outside: Peaceful private garden with seating area to enjoy the sun and panoramic vistas of the surrounding countryside and city skyline in the distance. Wood fired Hot Tub; Fully equipped Outdoor Kitchen; Covered courtyard with seating; Additional separate glass fronted Dining Room with stunning countryside view. Ample parking.

Damage Deposit for care of property

All holiday-makers booking a holiday are required to pay either a Damage Deposit, £150 or as noted in the property listing details, or Damage Deposit waiver, whichever is selected is required to be paid with the balance payment of the holiday. Where selected the Damage Deposit will be held by Discover Scotland to be applied against the reasonable costs of repairs, replacement or additional cleaning of furnishings, kitchen equipment, crockery, glass, bedding and towels damaged or soiled other than by normal wear and tear during the holiday. The Damage Deposit, less any reasonable charges, will be returned within 14 days of the departure date. Where any costs exceed the Damage Deposit the holiday-maker will pay such excess as notified to them by Discover Scotland within 14 days of notification. Where the holiday-maker has agreed to pay the Damage Deposit Waiver the Damage Deposit is not payable. This amount is non-refundable. If the cost of any damage or breakages exceeds the applicable Damage Deposit value for the property, then the holiday-maker will be liable for any additional costs. Any such excess will be notified to them by Discover Scotland and due for payment within 14 days of notification.

All bookings require either a refundable Damage Deposit £150 or as per the property details or £20 non refundable Damage Deposit Waiver.
