COVID-19 Update

We are a small, dedicated team who pride ourselves on our commitment to our customers and owners. We have worked hard to achieve Feefo Platinum standard for delivering exceptional customer and we will continue to try and adhere to this even during the current crisis. We are trying to be socially responsible & morally fair in discussions with our holiday-makers and cottage owners alike.

We will be contacting all our holiday-makers who are not able to take up their holiday due to the COVID19 restrictions to issue a voucher which will allow them to re-book an alternative date. This is being undertaken on a week by week basis rolling forward.  If you have a booking and have not been contacted yet then please be patient, please don’t contact us unless it is more than 7 days after your booked arrival date.

With thousands of bookings across 270 properties and their respective owners to liaise with, it’s a huge jigsaw for us to complete, particularly when we can’t be in the office due to the current restrictions. This does mean that we are not able to respond in our usual quick & efficient way.

Please be assured that we will be in touch as soon as possible and we are very grateful for your support and patience at this time

Situated in the small village of Danderhall, offering spacious Visit Scotland 4* graded accommodation for up to 6 people. The property is an ideal base from which to explore not only the town of Dalkeith, which is only a 10-minute drive away, but also the historic city of Edinburgh, only half an hour away, the Firth of Forth and the Golf coast, from Musselburgh down to North Berwick. Dalkeith itself has much to offer guests. The Country Park is a fantastic day out for families and couples alike offering walks, cycling (bike hire available) fishing and bush craft activities. Also operating as a working farm, the land is home to an abundance of wildlife including otters, badgers, hares and migratory birds, all of which can be experienced via a Ranger-led walk. For the little ones in tow, the Park offers zorbing and archery, not to mention Fort Douglas Adventure Park, a magical turreted treehouse, complete with suspension bridge, climbing frame, secret tunnels plus knights, princesses and pirates.
Dalkeith is also home to the World's longest running indoor butterfly house, Edinburgh Butterfly and Insect World, where hundreds of exotic species of butterfly fly free amongst a tropical rainforest environment. The Scottish capital city of Edinburgh is of course renowned for it's history and a trip to the Castle and Royal Mile is a must. Also recommended are the many art galleries including The Scottish, Scottish National, National Portrait and Modern Art galleries. For the green fingered, the Botanic Gardens, with their tropical and temperate palm glass-houses, arboretum and allotments offer a welcome break from the bustle of the city centre. Live traditional music takes place in many locations across the city throughout the week and food from all four corners of the world is readily available.
There are a number of fantastic beaches relatively close by including Cramond, Portobello, North Berwick, Seacliff, Belhaven Bay and Silver Sands and easy access to the main roads leading to the Lothian, Fife and Border regions for anyone looking for a day further afield.
