The Scottish capital city of Edinburgh is of course renowned for it's history and a trip to the Castle and Royal Mile is a must. Also recommended are the many art galleries including The Scottish, Scottish National, National Portrait and Modern Art galleries. For the green fingered, the Botanic Gardens, with their tropical and temperate palm glass-houses, arboretum and allotments offer a welcome break from the bustle of the city centre. Live traditional music takes place in many locations across the city throughout the week and food from all four corners of the world is readily available.
There are a number of fantastic beaches relatively close by including Cramond, Portobello, North Berwick, Seacliff, Belhaven Bay and Silver Sands and easy access to the main roads leading to the Lothian, Fife and Border regions for anyone looking for a day further afield.
"We found the house to be well situated for day trips to Edinburgh, Midlothians and the Borders. It was far enough outside the City to avoid traffic congestion and noise, yet close enough for sightseeing opportunities. The house was welcoming and well appointed. The furniture and fittings were excellent, modern and extremely clean and the beds appeared brand new and the bedding was spotlessly clean. The kitchen has every facility that one would require and there is adequate parking for 2 cars at the front of the house. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back." Ferguson family, stayed for 2 weeks in September 2017.
