Enjoying a peaceful countryside setting with far-reaching views across surrounding farmland, this welcoming retreat offers the best of both worlds — a tranquil rural escape just under three miles from the lively coastal town of Oban. Guests can set off on scenic walks straight from the doorstep, while families will appreciate the small on-site children’s play area. Located within the same grounds is The Barn, a cosy and characterful pub serving drinks and locally sourced food during seasonal opening times. It’s the perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing and outdoor adventures. Thanks to the secluded location, clear nights also offer excellent opportunities for stargazing beneath dark Highland skies.

Widely recognised as the Seafood Capital of Scotland, Oban is famous for its outstanding seafood restaurants, fresh local produce and bustling harbour atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy everything from waterfront dining to fresh catches from local fishmongers, while seafood enthusiasts should not miss a visit to The Green Shack on the quayside for freshly prepared shellfish. Oban also serves as the Gateway to the Isles, with regular CalMac ferry sailings from South Pier to destinations including Mull, Barra, Tiree, Colonsay and Lismore. A short water taxi trip from North Pier also connects visitors to the peaceful island of Kerrera.

The town itself offers an excellent range of attractions, shops and leisure facilities. Alongside its impressive cathedrals and charming independent stores, visitors can explore favourites such as Oban Distillery and Oban Chocolate Company. There are also supermarkets, cafés, traditional pubs, restaurants, a cinema, golf course and swimming pool, as well as plenty of opportunities for outdoor pursuits both on land and water. Beautiful sandy beaches are nearby for traditional seaside days, while history lovers can discover attractions including Dunstaffnage Castle, Dunollie Castle and Inveraray Jail. For those with an interest in gardens and historic estates, Inveraray Castle and Arduaine Garden are both well worth a visit. With such a wide variety of attractions and activities nearby, the area offers something to suit every age and interest.
