COVID-19 Update

We are a small, dedicated team who pride ourselves on our commitment to our customers and owners. We have worked hard to achieve Feefo Platinum standard for delivering exceptional customer and we will continue to try and adhere to this even during the current crisis. We are trying to be socially responsible & morally fair in discussions with our holiday-makers and cottage owners alike.

We will be contacting all our holiday-makers who are not able to take up their holiday due to the COVID19 restrictions to issue a voucher which will allow them to re-book an alternative date. This is being undertaken on a week by week basis rolling forward.  If you have a booking and have not been contacted yet then please be patient, please don’t contact us unless it is more than 7 days after your booked arrival date.

With thousands of bookings across 270 properties and their respective owners to liaise with, it’s a huge jigsaw for us to complete, particularly when we can’t be in the office due to the current restrictions. This does mean that we are not able to respond in our usual quick & efficient way.

Mossyard, home of the McConchie family for five generations, is a traditional working farm situated in a magnificent coastal location with the beautiful backdrop of the Galloway Hills. Mossyard, located 4 miles west of Gatehouse of Fleet, is in the heart of rural Dumfries & Galloway, south west Scotland.

The Buoys, our well-loved and popular original lodge, occupies a commanding and uninterrupted view, not only over the beaches and coves (a five-minute stroll from the door), but down to the Cumbrian Hills and The Isle of Man.

The living/ dining area has sliding glass doors opening out on to a spacious, glass-fronted verandah, and beyond to the sea. Inside, we have a selection of books, games and DVD’s for those wet days, or darker evenings. A basket of fresh local produce is provided on your arrival. and our bed linen is of the highest quality.

The Buoys is weekly let Friday to Friday, short breaks are accepted November - March; Friday - Monday or Monday - Friday excluding Christmas, New Year and February Half Term. At all other times short breaks may be considered if within 14 days of arrival at the owners discretion.

Gas central heating, with gas fire in living room, Wi-Fi, Digital TV, DVD, CD, Radio, Ipod docking station, washing machine, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, gas hob & oven, garden furniture & gas BBQ * 1 dog welcome. There is a drier in the laundry room if required.

The Buoys is not graded formally for disabled use. We do however take great care in making sure that we offer comfortable accommodation for elderly guests, ambulant disabled and guests with frail mobility. You can drive right up to the door at The Buoys. There is a compacted gravel surface outside the property. There are three steps to get up into the property. There is a small 'lip' on the threshold of the doorway. Once you are inside the property the rest of the accommodation is all one level with no more steps.

Clear Dates

Damage Deposit for care of property

All holiday-makers booking a holiday are required to pay either a Damage Deposit, £150 or as noted in the property listing details, or Damage Deposit waiver of £18, whichever is selected is required to be paid with the balance payment of the holiday. Where selected the Damage Deposit will be held by Discover Scotland to be applied against the reasonable costs of repairs, replacement or additional cleaning of furnishings, kitchen equipment, crockery, glass, bedding and towels damaged or soiled other than by normal wear and tear during the holiday. The Damage Deposit, less any reasonable charges, will be returned within 14 days of the departure date. Where any costs exceed the Damage Deposit the holiday-maker will pay such excess as notified to them by Discover Scotland within 14 days of notification. Where the holiday-maker has agreed to pay the Damage Deposit Waiver the Damage Deposit is not payable. This amount is non-refundable. If the cost of any damage or breakages exceeds the applicable Damage Deposit value for the property, then the holiday-maker will be liable for any additional costs. Any such excess will be notified to them by Discover Scotland and due for payment within 14 days of notification.

All bookings require either a refundable Damage Deposit £150 or as per the property details or £18 non refundable Damage Deposit Waiver.
