WE ARE THRILLED TO INTRODUCE THE GRANARY TO OUR PORTFOLIO with availability from January 2026

Nestled within the heart of the historic Dunira Estate, just three miles from the charming village of Comrie, The Granary is a luxurious Highland escape designed for two. Surrounded by mountains, lush lowlands, and centuries of history, Dunira is a truly unique destination to experience the spirit of Scotland.

Originally part of the Estate’s old working Square, once the vibrant hub of daily life at Dunira, this beautifully restored first-floor residence combines heritage character with modern comfort. This was historically a centre of craftsmanship and community, supporting the great house to the south. Today, The Granary honours that legacy with an elegant restoration and a serene atmosphere that invites you to slow down, reconnect, and create lasting memories together.

From the moment you arrive, calm settles in. Your private raised deck and enclosed garden open onto sweeping views of rolling hills, forests, and the gentle flow of the Boltachan Burn, the “west water” from which Dun-iar-a takes its name. All around, nature moves to its own rhythm: red squirrels dart along stone walls, red kites and raptors call overhead, deer graze in the meadows, and in the still of evening, owls call from wood to wood. After the rains, the rush of the burn becomes your soundtrack, a soft reminder of the living landscape that surrounds you.

Inside, The Granary is a sanctuary of warmth and style. Thoughtfully designed for couples, it offers contemporary comfort with romantic touches: a Nespresso coffee to start slow mornings, a rain-head shower to refresh after a day outdoors, and cosy bath robes to wrap yourselves in before a peaceful evening by the wood-burning stove. Here, every moment, conversation, laughter, quiet is lit by the soft glow of the fire.

When you’re ready to explore, you don’t have to go far. Dunira itself offers miles of scenic walks and trails, winding through ancient woods, along rivers and burns, and into the surrounding hills. Runners and fitness enthusiasts can follow paths east toward Comrie or west toward St Fillan’s, climbing to Balnacoul Hill or into the Glen Tarken hills for panoramic views that take your breath away.

The nearby village of Comrie, set at the meeting of three rivers, welcomes visitors with artisan cafés, cosy restaurants, independent shops, and galleries that celebrate local craft and creativity. Comrie Croft, just east of the estate, offers eco-friendly adventures from cycling and hiking to outdoor saunas and locally sourced food and drink. To the west, Loch Earn invites paddle boarding, sailing, and tranquil picnics by the water’s edge.

For culture and history lovers, Dunira’s heritage runs deep. Purchased by Henry Dundas, 1st Viscount Melville, in 1784, the estate was transformed into one of Perthshire’s grandest retreats, with gardens designed by the famed Thomas Mawson. Today, its beauty remains timeless, so much so that it was recently featured in Outlander. Nearby, Glen Turret Distillery, Scotland’s oldest working distillery, and the baroque splendour of Drummond Gardens offer glimpses into Scotland’s storied past.

Whether your perfect escape means curling up by the fire, running through heather-covered hills, wandering woodland paths, or sharing adventures in the Highlands, The Granary offers it all. A place where history, nature and romance intertwine, this elegant retreat is more than a stay, it’s an experience of Scotland at its most authentic and alive.
